Measuring Gas Props

measure gas prop

As shown in the Illustration, the open or extended length is measured from one end of the eye ball socket connector to the other end of the eye ball socket connector (end to end) when the prop is completely extended.

The closed or compressed length is measured from one end of the eye ball socket connector to the other end of the eye ball socket connector when the prop is completely compressed.

I have a hard fiberglass 1996 A.R.E. and the OEM # is C16-23094. I cannot find this shock and a LEER Dealer told me that a 31" extended shock would work. Will a 36" shock be better for more height when opened? Please contact me at stsss101@yahoo.com so we can figure this out as my shocks are beyond worn out. Thanks, Stan

Present shock is listed on label as 19.7IN.  Can I use a 19" shock for my hard "T" cover?
